“The three women in-ventured across the continent”

What: As three recent college graduates, we intend to bike the Northern Tier across the North American continent. While we are not biking with a “mission” (i.e. raising money for a cause, raising awareness regarding a particular issue) we are biking with intention: to ask questions along the way and to document the unfolding story.

Leaving from Bar Harbor, Maine Portsmouth, NH (!) on June 5th 9th, we will bike the US staying far north, cycling through New England, heading over and through the Great Lakes, make our way through various national parks, through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho and finally finding ourselves in Washington state and ultimately, the Pacific Ocean. We kick off on June 9, 2013 for the west coast, with open eyes and hearts in the context of our multiplying questions. We will meet as many beings as possible. We will learn fiercely. We will sweat sincerely. We will ask constantly.

Why June 9? Lily is in her last semester of college!! (How amazing is it that she's taking off right away for this adventure?

Why "In-Venture"? This is an adventure of the heart, soul, mind, and body. It would be unreasonable to think we could dive into such an experience without acknowledging the necessity to look inward as well as onward, backward, and outward.

What's with all the Questions? We must ask questions! It's important to the whole team to continue asking questions throughout this entire project, to keep ourselves open to what may come. Check out the Questions Page to see some of what we've already started asking.

How are you going to pay for this? We are doing our own fundraising for this adventure! Each team member has some postcards and posters for sale as fundraisers. You can also order them on this site (also under "Support Us!" above) and there are few other creative fundraising options too. :) We have already had a few fun fundraising events and plan to have more, so stay tuned. Thank you for your support!
